Let me introduce you to a super-cool, less known invention from 400 BC.The Pythagoras Cup!The story goes like this. Pythagoras, who is famous for his work on right angled triangles, used to serve wine to his students in this cup. This cup used to ensure that all of them get the same amount of wine and if somebody was greedy and tried to fill more wine in the cup, that student used to get his comeuppance and all the wine from his cup used to fall from the bottom of the cup. Amazing, isn’t it?This is how it works.

The cup looks something like this. A rod sort of thing protrudes from the base ofContinue Reading

I don’t want to live like this, but I don’t want to die. Help is coming, we all have it in us to be that help. They have done well, they have humanity on its knee, but not knees. A little rest and self reflection, before we rise once again. To strong are WE for failure and so they tried to divide us and have given every reason to come together. They have seriously underestimated humanity. Deep breath every one. One loveContinue Reading

240408 - 0336, I take a lot of photos for my writing projects. One of the best cameras for this purpose has a close focus mode down to 2 cm. It is the Sony 10.2 megapixel DSC-TX1. I love it but it is no longer being made. It fits in a shirt pocket, and nothing moves. It is fantastic.X < > Y, AZ Sonoran desert Richard.

An 18th century lifestyle, I love the clothing & the skills & the everyday 18th century items. My wife & I lived an 18th century lifestyle for 20 years, & raised 3 fine sons in that time. We are still living off grid, but we have solar power electricity now & a fridge/freezer. However, if we had to, we could go back to having no electricity, even though it means more work in food preserving & clothes washing.

Certainly! One recent scientific discovery that captivates me is the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to provide accurate forecasts of extreme floods at a global scale. This breakthrough is particularly significant because it addresses the increasing risk of flood-related disasters caused by anthropogenic climate change. Here are some key points about this discovery:1. Accelerating the hydrological cycle: Anthropogenic climate change is causing an acceleration in the hydrological cycle, leading to a higher risk of flood-related disasters.2. Reliable global river flood forecasts: The use of aContinue Reading

Did you know that through meditation, it is true that you can unite with the One Source of all things and from that experience know yourself at its highest level?Awakening thru Meditation · April 29, 2023WHAT IS SAMADHI AND ALL THAT GOES WITH IT. A MUST FOR ALL THOSE WANTING OR ALREADY WALKING THEIR SPIRITUAL PATH.These videos are not in order. First you have the experience itself and then you have the lessons to learn. For full understanding take your time and watch them all. In 1973 I learned to meditate and within three months I went into samadhi to self-realize, so if you have questions follow this site on Quora and I’ll answer all your questions. Awakening thru Meditation My experience was very detailed and I have spent the last 50 years researching what had happened to me in this experience, as I wanted to know for myself if it was real or not — IT’S VERY REAL PEOPLE. The human brain is incredible. Before my spinal cord injury, I was right-hand dominant—I wrote, ate, and brushed my teeth with my right hand. My injury resulted in near-complete paralysis of my right hand (no grasp and little extension). My left hand, though, fared better. It maintained its strong grasping ability. To complete my homework, my mom or therapist initially wrote out my answers/responses for me. However, I craved completing assignments independently. I realized the key to independence would be through my left hand. It would allow me to eventually write, eat, and brush my teeth withouContinue Reading

Solving the problem of pain in a Phantom limb.God forbid this should ever happen but imagine you have lost a limb (army vet, surgical complication etc..). There is something that happens then that most of us do not know of: it seems the brain rejects the idea of the limb being lost and feels pain in that area and muscle cramps. The pain is very real and can be very hard to bear. Usually when you have pain in your limbs, you can get a couple of scans, the doctor can feel what is going on and diagnose you accordingly and treat you. How can you be treated when the limb does not exist? We hear eveContinue Reading
